Position Overview

The Civil Litigation Attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, including preparing legal documents, conducting research, attending court proceedings, and providing strategic advice to clients. The role requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, and a passion for achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a variety of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies tailored to each case.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with clients to provide updates, set realistic expectations, and address their concerns.
  • Maintain organized case files and meet all deadlines with a high level of professionalism.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff within the firm to ensure the best possible client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation defense, with demonstrated proficiency in managing cases independently.
  • Active licensure to practice law in California (good standing required).
  • A strong academic background, including a J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear and actionable advice for clients.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in preparing for and participating in court proceedings and depositions.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
